Scenes from the Beautiful Game: I love football. The game has been part of my life for as long as I can remember: from kicking a ball around in the cul-de-sac I grew up on, using grids for goalposts, to today, where I’m trying to pass my love of the game onto my children. I was lucky enough to be born a few miles from Old Trafford and have supported Manchester United since I was a kid.
I'm fascinated the energy of match day, the changing emotions of the fans, the half a second of silence just before a goal is scored. The few minutes before a game, when you are stood in a ground, waiting for kick off, is one of the most exciting feelings in the world to me. Scenes from the Beautiful Game is my way of trying to capture the drama of the sport and why I love it so much.
